i press on_t

It’s  been a couple of weeks since I’ve posted anything.  One reason is that I’ve essentially, been consumed in the release of the new book and what turned out to be a frustrating experience.

To make a long story short I uploaded a “dirty” (i.e. not fully edited) version of the book on pre-release.  And it went out before I uploaded the newer “clean” (edited ) version to Amazon.

According to Amazon, my readers can get the current version of The Birth of God updated on their kindles.  Per Amazon “we have activated their ability to update the content through the Manage Your Kindle page on Amazon.com Therefore, customers who had bought your book previously would now be able to get the updated content of your book to their device.”

So go ahead and get the updated version via your kindle now, and when you finish let me know what you think! Leave a review!

But wait! you say.  Why did it need updating?  Well I’m glad you asked that.  Well it seems that that I had a bout of edititious.

Edititous?

Yep.  It’s a known malady that effects writers.  You have probably experienced it too.

Editing picThis deadly writers malady deceives you into thinking that what you see is what what you actually wrote. Somehow I manged to upload a draft still infected with editing errors.  Drove me crazy.  The way the pre-release system works I wasn’t able to update it in time.  So I gasp…released a book that wasn’t edited to the standards that I would like.  As the head of this business, the buck stops with me.  Thankfully, I was able to upload the corrected version and Amazon worked with me to update my readers kindles.

Needless to say it was a valuable lesson, and one I don’t intend to make again.

I am happy to report that the book sales are doing wonderfully because of awesome fans like you!  Thank you so much for allowing me to entertain you in the pages of my fictional world.

Also I had the opportunity to go the Milford Public Library for their author fair.  I had a great time rubbing shoulders with authors and met some new readers.  I’m looking forward to doing more in person book signings.

Also I am happy to announce that production has started on the Audiobook of The Birth of God.  I have been getting multiple requests for the audiobook, and after gathering the resources and being blessed by a benefactor who believes in me.  I hope to have it out to you by the end of this month!

I mentioned that my focus on the release of the new novel has kept me busy, but I must confess I’m struggling with the blogging.  I am praying over what is getting to me about it.  Pundits say that you should blog about thee times weekly.  Sometimes I struggle over what to write about, do my readers want to learn more about publishing?  More about devotional stuff, more about the specifics about my writing.  All of the above.  I find that blogging is work.  I want to be smart with my time and have developed enough of a brand that I need to be more conscientious about what I put out there.  So if you read what I produce give me some feedback.  It would go a long way into determining how much and maybe even if I write more.

Until next time!
